My Fair Lady

Supongo que como a tod@s vosotr@s , me encanta Audrey Hepburn. Pero sin duda mi película preferida es My Fair Lady. La historia es preciosa. Para quien no la conozca, un experto lingüista se apuesta con un colega, que es capaz de hacer pasar a una "simple" vendedora de flores (Audrey) por una mujer de la alta sociedad. Para ello, además de vestirla con las mejores galas, debe enseñarla a hablar (sobretodo a pronunciar) bien. Como en todo musical, hay alguna canción que me resulta un poco aburrida, pero toda la película tiene una gran carga estética y en especial me atrae esta parte en la que para ver como va el progreso de su alumna, decide llevarla a las carreras de Ascott. El pase de sombreros y la colocación de los personajes a modo de obra teatral es espectacular.
Se lo dedico a Mar, mi comentarista "number one" porque se que le gustan mucho los sombreros, y que recientemente ha escrito una entrada de Audrey en su blog (El tocador de Mar).

I love Audrey Hepburn, like every people. The best film with her it is for me My Fair Lady. The story shows us a bet between two Language teachers. One of them, thinks he is able to teach a "simply" flowers seller (Audrey) how to speak perfect english and how to became a High society lady. There are some boring songs as in all the musical films, but there is a big amount of aesthetic during all the film. My favourite part is when they go to Ascott to see how she is progressing. It is like a theater play and the hats are so wonderful...
I want to dedicate this post to Mar, my "number one" commentator", because I know she loves hats. She has recently made a post about Audrey at her blog (El Tocador de Mar)

Eso sí, hay que verla en inglés, porque si no, tendréis que asumir que la famosa frase: "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain" tengan la cara de traducirla como: "La lluvia en Sevilla es una pura maravilla".

There is a little problem if you see this film in spanish. The famous say "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain" will be traduced as "La lluvia en Sevilla es una pura maravilla" (something like the rain in Sevilla is absolute marvellous).
